- **Event Description**: You are invited to join us for the preview launch of exhibition 'Drawn Together | An exhibition of Drawings, Paintings and Prints by Richard Croft PPRUA (1935 - 2025)

For this exhibition organised and curated before Richard Croft's passing last year, the focus is on drawing and how this was used by the artist to sketch, record and develop compositions for paintings and prints. For much of his adult life, drawing was central to his art practice, as can be seen in the numerous sketchbooks kept on an almost daily basis over 70 years.

In this mini-retrospective, a number of drawings with their corresponding paintings and prints are brought together, some for the first time, enabling us to see how the artist explored landscape and still life, often developed through series into abstraction.

Born in London 1935, Croft moved to Belfast in 1958 and taught art as Head of Department at Annadale Grammar School. Retiring in 1985, he worked from his studio in Dundrum, drawing and painting the landscape of Northern Ireland, Ireland and further afield.

As part of this exhibition, Amanda Croft, daughter of the late Richard Croft, will give a talk and tour of the gallery giving a personal insight into the life and career of this esteemed artist. 

Exhibition Open Reception: Thurs 22 Jan, 7-9pm
